who cares what team wins these daft challenges?

thev point is ONE INDIVIDUAL beats everybody else

all this talk of wild boars and tiger queens crap.........all the boxers in both teams gotta fight each other anyway to win.........

I think it's there for a reason. It makes the show better to watch. ultimately they want to achieve two things. Viewership[ratings] and recognition[for the art form]. i bet some of the fighters here, were virtual unknowns in this region, but all the drama in the house[Rafik for example] has made him the talk of the town, or some Contender Asia Forums rather.

As i was saying, it made the show so much more interesting. Showed how some of them were true gentlemen[the tiger's when they rushed to Zach, and JWP inviting them for a night of partying]. I bet these challenges were there for a reason. The winning team chose to fight the stronger fighters.

Plus, i don't think that ONE INDIVIDUAL would have wanted to beat everyone without having some fun first. haha

peace.

Bottom line: Contender Asia is a reality tv show. Read: mark burnett of survivor and apprentice et al. Read: entertainment!

Of cos, there will be fight purists say it should be all about the fight. Then it'd just be some tournament, or another show all together: A documentary or a docu-series on a Thai Gym (which come to think of it, would be an amazing idea. Think miami ink or american chopper)

Back to TCA: The insights on the fighters are great. you get fighter background, goss, drama and jokes. Then you get to see some training, the fights and hear what the fighters think strategy wise.

Agreed: some challenges are pretty lame! anyone remember episode 1 running alongside a narrow strip of wet pavement. But! It IS only season 1....
