I like it!!!! Sean is my favourite!!! Gonna see it in replay again!
very nice show....i been wating for this show...and i was shock john wayn parr was in the contender
asia..he is a very good fighter...he fought alot of great fighter out there...cant wait till next week!!!yay
Great show but still lots of improvement to be made especially the subtitle and filming angle for the fights. Plus, JWP rules... Next week the fight has just began... Time to win back all the losts.
The picture quality is not so good :-( I expected more actually since they had a practice run before the actual episode. Sound is ok I suppose since one can hear my voice while I was screaming from the top of my lungs
The lights are a bit off, sometimes the fighters are in the dark.
The rounds are around 2 mins each or less, that means 3 mins were cut from each of them.
Johnny Chan is the ref, you remember him, right? :-)
Both guys are great fighters!!! Incredibly how Trevor kept fighting where others would just give up.
Great show they need to just improve the cinematography of the bouts. It looks a bit amateurish.
I also wish they would show a bit more of the feet work, range finding and set ups. They cut straight to the exchanges.
Fantastic show, just what i needed.
Like to see more info/stories from the fighters.
Loved the part when yodsanklai pulls out the title he got from jwp.
Also the reactions from preacher everytime jwp talks. haha
The female host is mint.

Yep!
JWP's character left an impact on me. He is a very modest and humble person, very heartwarming and supportive character. Very impressed!
I wish they wouldn't edit the fight so much.
more info on fighter's backgrounds, dun edit the fights, dun cover the english subtitles with chinese subtitles.
and that will be pretty much great =)
Yeah, we all agree about the subtitles and editing
Don't think that can be fixed anymore. The torrent has the episode without the chinese subs.
About the backgrounds. You noticed the first episode was more about Trevor and his family? Like one could feel something is in the air...
I like Trevor, great personality!...hope he keeps fighting more and learn to use more of his knees and elbow! maybe his wife shouldbe at ringside with him *hint* *hint*!
the editing of the fights are to be expected if you have watched any of the CONTENDER series.
trevor was a nice fella but he was completey dismantled by his opponent.
bit of waste of time him being there really, im sure there must have been more worthy contenders to be in his place on the show.
Hmm... Kai have you ever read on Trevor profile. Do you know how many belts and win he had under him. I don't think it is a waste of time for him to be there. At least, he met JWP and other great fighters and its a great experiences to be learn which you wouldn't know.
And to be hand pick by Fox it meants you're one of the best, Trevor is a great fighter, look how fast his punches are and how he ends his combo. At least, he stood up for the whole 5 rounds.
The only things that make me wonder was why Narupol chose him?
Maybe he wanted to mix it up with someone who was more of a boxer?
Narupol certainly had the height, reach and experience advantages.
Trevor is good, if some of his punches connected it would have turned the match around but someone had to go home.
Just because his not a big name doesnt mean his rubbish.
Trevor is an awesome guy and he did his best even tho he knew he was behind on points. He never gave up and like what Naruepol said. He's got great fighting spirit. The first to go is always difficult. but that is the REALITY of the show/comp.
Wasn't a waste of time for him to be there....reading what you posted was a waste of my time. Have a lil respect.
LaterZ
I like JWP and but I don't see Yod slowing down. I don't even think he's peaked. Trevor great heart for stepping in there and banging it out with someone lke Naruepol. Even Naruepol was impressed by his fighting spirit. I think his opinion counts more.
i think trevor gave his best. i think everyone feels that way. other than the prize money, i'm sure each of the contenders would have learnt something. something they would never have learnt kicking pads in their normal gyms. right zach? trevor is a nice guy, and that is a personal opinion, and after watching the fight, i don't think he wasted his time. not at all.
ok ok .....me saying it was a "waste of time" Trevor being there was a bit hasty, so i apologise if anyone took offense to this. i was just frustrated after watching how the fight was so one sided against someone of trevors calibre.
im not denying trevors ability or acheivements and it was clear he put his heart and soul into the fight, but he looked like a novice againt Naruepol.
he rarely check any kicks, looked poor in the clinch. The one weapon that could've caused damage was trevors punches (his hook in particular) but you could see them coming a mile off.
Naruepol could have finished the fight off much earlier, even his corner told him to "stop carrying" his opponent and in the final round to "not use his elbows and feel sorry for him"
anyways...
can't wait for the next episode.
hmm... in a match after you took so much blows and kicks. Plus, when you know you're way behind points it affects you both in morally and physically. Missing punches and sort is common stuff... Just that Narupol has more control in this fight, onces you start playing in his style of fighting you start losing.
Plus, Narupol has vast experiences in Muaythai and fighting against him and to win him probably needs more than just skill.
If you see the really old match between ramon dekker vs sakmongkol, its all about tactic. Sakmongkol is a tactical fighter, using both his brain and his kicks. And like many other K1 fighters out there, Andy Souwer, Masato, Buakaw... It all part of the package.
I thought the show was about fighters and not about someones spirit? Trevor did stay and take a beating for the entire fight which show tremendous heart and courage as a man...but I thought the show was about a persons skills in being able to apply damage and going for a win as opposed to displaying no skills and ability to take a heap of damage...The bottom line is if your gonna stay in the ring and take damage like that and not give any back it is best to call it a night rather than to commit a form of slow suicide, lets not forget this is a "sport" and we are not in real world combat where its life or death. As fighters we need to tame our pride and realize that it is our sport and we must do what we can to prolong the number of matches we have so if we are having a horrible night and getting completely dominated we must use our heads and not just our hearts.
great episode
haha what a delayed post
I think that Trevor did a great job....He has much more skill than shown in this fight...I have seen these skills in person. In fact his next fight after the contender show resulted in a knock out in the first 2 minutes by high roundhouse!! A viscious kick that he is known for. What people need to realize is Neuropol and Yod and JWP knew from months before filming that they would be included in this show.. Trevor found out very shortly before going, was and had one day of training in Singapore then fought Neuropol Fairtex!!! One thing all of the fighters have in common on the show is you do not have your coach behind you that you have always worked with....Not excuses as Neuropol is clearly an awesome fighter and won the match. Hopefully for the live finale of the show in Vegas Trevor will get a match and maybe some of you will change your opinions...I think Trevor versus Sean would be a good match style wise......
The final will be in Singapore in April.
can anyone post the first episode? thanks
