In the fight there were a couple of things Dzhabar did and we didn't understood why... But now it's all clear :-)
Watch the episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fight's over. They're both INCREDIBLE warriors!!!!
true i respect both of them...but i was hoping for dzhabar to win and he win!!!yahoo!
Gosh...It was an awesome battle! They were really close and honestly, I couldn't tell who would win in the end...seat gripping epidsode. their points was 96/95....that is awfully neck to neck...wooosh!!
<p>The Ring Is My Battle Field</p><p>Be A Part Of The Solution & Not A Part Of The Problem!</p>
both great fighters but pretty immatured behaviour from one of them!
well, you can say both :P lol
Something dodgy with the scoring there.
Dzhabar had 2 points deducted, you're not going to convince me that without those points off he would have beaten David 98/95. A close fight and IMHO the points deduction would have made the difference. Unless there was more to the fight than shown on TV.
I'll be interested to see what, if anything, his team mates think of the sly kick to the head whilst David was down. And imagine what they would have said if it had been Rafik doing the same.
i was exhausted watching them! (midnight re run).
personally I thought David should have won. like uppercut says: DODGY!
i also didn't like the sly kick to the head in round 4.
But man these 2 dudes are terrific fighters! Arguably best fight so far! *RESPECT*
I watched the episode again and my take is that David could have probably lost due to the fact he was backing out quite a bit in the last 2 rounds (he was defending much but not countering especially in the final round), Dzhabar was the aggressor at this point. Dont forget, this also takes into account in the point scoring.
true... i watch it again too...the fight goes to dzhabar...he was really pumping 1st 2, and 3rd round...and im gonna watch it again lol
take downs get u good points too. havent seen the episode yet though, have to wait for it to come on the net.
ah! that would explain it. jabba ruled in the takedown department!

Hmmm...Personnally IMO, the difference between Rafik & Dzabar is Rafik showed some attitude since his quarrel with Dzhabar and was fiery all the way till he left. If he had done those fouls in the ring, he would not have been forgiven so easily...lol...it would be regarded as intentional. Dzhabar on the other hand, played it cool and let it rest, thru out he's been portrayed a mr nice guy. So that will somewhat kinda soften those 'fouls" as "unintentional". Something towards more of "I was too engrossed in the fight, I didn't realsize I did that"......lol
This was one of my absolute favourite fights of the show. Having been there to watch it in person, I can say it was pretty much toe to toe for the entire five rounds. A really hard one to call!
As for the supposed 'kick to the head' from Jabba when David was down, you need to understand how Muay Thai works, especially when fought under full rules with knees and elbows to the head and even more so with experienced fighters. If a fighter is on his way to the canvas and the guy who is standing starts his technique, then the huge majority of the time, whether it lands or not, he will be let away with it. It's a bit of a grey area, but as long as no part of the fighters body has touched the canvas (other than their feet) then it's pretty much fair game. In addition, you can see that Jabba actually pulls the kick before impact, so I think taking a point off under these circumstances is a bit extreme. It would be easy for me (being on the blue team) to sit here and say Jabba cheated, but the fact of the matter is he didn't, and I'm sure David would agree. The pair of them fought an absolute war that they can both be proud of but in the end someone had to go...
Hey are you Sean from the Contender Asia? I love you man, your funny !
OK, thank you Sean / Caestus for the clarification there; very informative.
I don't think that the kick to the head that David took was any more than a slight nudge really and didn't make any difference to the outcome. I was only pointing out that the reaction would have been a lot different if everyone's favourite bad guy (Rafik) had slipped it in, y'knaawotimean?
As for the fight as a whole, it was a definitely a humdinger, both going at it for the full 5 rounds - although maybe both looking for the elbow a little too much??? Anyway; as noted by others above Jabba certainly made more takedowns and I guess that must have swung it. My main point was that in a tight fight like this one, 2 points deducted could have made a difference in the result - whether the points deducted were harsh or not; the ref did take them off didn't he?
No sour grapes from me -as you say, someone has to go home and better to be after a fight like that, than one full of "only ifs" and "I should have's".
And for those who weren't at the live fights....it ain't the last one where the decision was SOOOOOOoooo close.........keep watching fight fans.
yes, this is the best fight thus far!!
was wondering why did jabba say that david has no respect for anyone? ?
didnt you guys saw Jabba Knee david's nutz, wasn't it dirty??
i kinda like Jabba til this episode but guess the producers gotta find a replacement for rafik to keep the show more entertaining, the show will be too monotonous with all nice guys ;)
Who's the next hate-list in this show?? ZAch?? for talking too much ?? lol
i think when david don't want to shake hands properly with jabba after the deliberation? was that it? he was dissed!
(*agree, my fave fight so far!)
ugh watched the fight, amazing. both should have won lol, I kinda like david over dzhabar, but the match was close, judges said their word and thats it. but hey that really was a bloody war
It was surprising that jabba won despite those 2 point deductions, the fight was really close. well, I still wanted him to win.
lol JWP! Let's see how many fans I have left after the next challenge! You know what I'm saying!
Caestus, so taking rafik's bed wasn't enough huh?
i hope their are no haters :| i like the tiger kings im actually rooting for them but i seriously think david won btw no way in was 98/95 it was extremely close good job though much respect for both of them
Mr Wright, everytime they have a interview with you I always bust out laughing, your one liners are a crack up. Cant believe you stole Rafics bed, task task.
Are you still single??? or are back with the X ha ha.
that was a real slug fest.
im knackered just watching it...
hehe sean's comments are really funny, not so much in a stupid way, just funny, i'm curious what should be such a big deal in the next episode XD
btw, nobody mentioned it here, dzhabar is a pretty tuff man, scared of nothing, for his own good he would fight zidov/yukay, they dont seem as tough as david (not saying they're bad or something, I'm really curious of their fighting style). but fo the good of the team, he picked david.
btw in the next episode either zach or zidov will fight (or maybe both?) XD
cant wait to see the rest 4 fighters, I like surprises :P
in the next round, I'd like to see sean vs dzhabar, dzhabar a bit more crazy, sean a bit more technical and precise, close match :D
well, seeing how they are plugging zach's hurt shoulder in the trailers. my money is on zidov and zach. cos in some past eps, zach say he'd like to fight zidov and zidov say he'll take zach too? question is: who gets to pick i am also real curious about what sean wright does in next ep! he is funny
technicality go hand in hand, Sean vs Soren would be good to watch.
Just have to chime in and say what a great fight! And its awesome to see some of the fighters out on the forums and what not JWP has been all over the place. My fav show on tv right now even though I cant watch it on broadcast here in the states. Thank the internets for allowing such an awesome show to be seen. Also why did Pitu pick a fax machine out of all the other awesome things during the challenge win.
Yeah, awesome fight! And it's good everyone likes surprises!!! Gonna be a few of them :-)
Really liked the fight, both got a big heart.
I like Jabba alot and he is a good and very tough fighter. But he was too aggressive and seems to lose focus.
I saw the fight as being in Davids favor (even without, but especially with the point reductions.)
Never saw david fight before, but he has a good style and he's what.. 33?! Not slow at all!
I would have liked to see David vs Soren, would have been a good technical fight.
My opinion ofcourse
Great to see you guys out among mortals
may I post something offtopic XD
I've got a question about the training equpment in the house, I really like that thing, fixed to the wall, with the focus points on it, to train punches only, nice for doing uppercuts, crosses... any punch. you should know what I mean, well we would need at least one of those at our gym, but I dont know how's it called, checked many internet martial art shops and their training equipment, but found not a similar thing. sooo, it would be cool if you give me the keywords to search for that thing
i think it's just called an uppercut box? haha.
try this link : http://www.muaythaitv.com/pages/shop/product.php?s_id=436
What spoiler, Sean didnt give away anything??
Wow. That was an awesome fight! Personally, I thought it was too close to call. But with Dzhabar losing 2 points, I thought for sure it was a win for David. It just goes to show, you NEVER want to leave a fight in the hands of the judges.
I think if you look at the fighters after the fight, Dzhabar thought he lost and wouldn't acknowledge David when he tried to congratulate him. Only after he discovered that he won, did he hoist David in the air in celebration.

Apparently its called a sports wall bag but not many retailers or sport shops will know what you mean. You may have to carry a picture of it around to show them. Interestingly, the origin of that wall mounted thingy was to train knees. Here is the link to your enquiry. http://sg.images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fsg.images.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dwall%2Bmounted%2Bboxing%2Bequipment%26ei%3DUTF-8%26fr%3Dyfp-t-web%26x%3Dwrt&w=236&h=339&imgurl=www.ringsport.com.au%2FUploads%2FImages%2FIM000004.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ringsport.com.au%2Fp-87-94%2Fproducts%2Fwall-mounted-bag%2Fwall-bag-picture-no1.html&size=18.6kB&name=IM000004.jpg&p=wall+mounted+boxing+equipment&type=jpeg&no=3&tt=15&oid=285c132dba43d6b0&ei=UTF-8
ya, that wasn't a spoiler.
sean, come back! we don't care you stole rafik's bed!!!
True that wasn't a spoiler, didn't really mean it like that. More like a joke.
Just meant that now I'm really curious about what Sean's talking about...
No offense really..
Anyway Was David the oldest Contender?
I'm glad to hear other folk are finding Sean funny, he totally cracks me up but then I'm used to his sense of humour - its good to know others find him amusing too! That fight was great this week, I was too busy enjoying watching it to score it properly but in my opinion from what you see on the edited TV version, particularly if you take into account the 2 deducted points (the first of which seemed a bit harsh i thought?) I think it kinda looked like it went David's way, but then I reckon its hard to comment fairly becuase seeing the fight on the camera must be so different to what the judges sitting ring side could see. But I second the comment about not wanting to leave things in the hands of the judges!! What is really good about seeing such a great fight like that is the folk that were dissing the choice of contenders will hopefully shut up as they see how good most of these guys are!!
And JWP - I'm still sort of 'THE X' but maybe thats changing soon! Sean - am I allowed to say that in public?! Looking forward to the swimming antics in next weeks challenge (does that count as a spoiler - its was in episode 6 so hopefully not?)! And does anyone else get really frustrated that the video links on the official website always seem to take ages to actually work after they are first posted?
Swimming, what swimming (spoiler cough spoiler)!
Anya and Sean, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G ha ha.
Looks like you two are a item, whoop whoop, can I say that Sean ha ha.
Hi Anya, nice to meet you. Sean really is cool and funny as. I hope we all meet up again one day.
it's a CONTENDER love life SPOILER alert! hee.
Nice to meet you too Mr JWP, missed you out in Singapore, would be good to meet sometime!
Yeah, I hate Dzhabar, he sucks.
I was shock after the match, david was the best in the game.
I hope it will be I rematch, so david can win over him and crush him.
He is I big nerd.
Yes, that was an incredible fight.
But the decision was a little surprising.
I was sure that David has done enough to win...but that's sport.
Yeah-=-not exactly how they judge in Thailand. Why did they set in Singapore?
Genghis is a strong guy--but robbing points is not the Thai way--and those of you who have fought in Thailand know that. (The Thai way is not to give points if you want to know.)
This is not pure Muay Thai--this is a werid version of it.
I would prefer Super Legue rules.
Season 2 is still open
