Rafik Bakkouri from France
what is this guy's fight record? how did he qualify as captain?dont reckon he is as experienced as JWP. Havent heard of him other than the fact that he was thrashed by Yod in Pattaya.
Haha well this is reality TV and they need some resident biatch to spice up the show. You have to give it up to Rafik too cuz even though I myself can't stand the sight of him, the show is getting boring and draggy since he left, I have to admit. Ok except for the fights, the daily ongoings and whatsoever... they are fighters and not entertainers and I'm just watching a bunch of laidback fighters training.
The last 15 minutes of the programme is the only highlight. Just my personal opinion. No offense to anyone.
Oh and when I used the term laidback, I meant 'a bunch of cool guys' ok, not that they are not hardworking, in case I get misunderstood... lest they start slamming me for all the wrong reasons. :)

yep, we all want our resident biatches!
Hahahaha :) So I don't see no RBs now and Naruepol is making up for eye candy. Soren too!
Ok, has anyone a copy of this week's 8 Days? I am not buying it but my friend showed me a copy and it had an interview report with Rafik.
I didn't care much about most of the interview but one thing Rafik said suddenly struck me and made me change my opinion of Rafik. It went somewhere along the lines of 'I was in Contender Asia to fight and not to earn money like some of the others' and he mentioned something about how some just try and stay on for as long as they can in the show (i.e probably just hoping that they don't get picked to fight sooner than the others).
I am not quoting Rafik but that was the general idea I got after reading (so if possible, someone can scan the report or something).
Anyway, what Rafik said makes sense and I know he was telling the truth because that is precisely my sentiments after catching the first 5 episodes. It was definitely obvious that there were one or more fighters who were just hoping to stay one for that 15 mins of fame. Don't ask me to name names because this is really just my personal opinion.
I don't know Rafik as a person but I like the fact that he has that side of him that has character. I think he is crazy (not mental problem kinda crazy but crazy) and I like that.
And if you ask me why I'm not buying 8 Days (well if it's of any interest to you), it's simply because I don't support local media. Haha.
funny how 8 days managed to get an interview with him. just seems like the wrong interview in the wrong magazine.
p/s: 8 days hasn't really done you or anyone any favors to garner any support! haha
Precisely the wrong magazine but well they are airing it on MCS Ch 5 soon isn't it... so well there you go. They're just gonna butcher it more into an entertainment show but that's where viewership ratings are high compared to... wait a minute, have we got a sports channel in SIN in the first place? haha
Nevertheless I still think Rafik's presence was interesting.
Today someone said to me - "How high of a person's morale can it be, how disciplined can he be, how dedicated and passionate can one be - if he fights for money?"
So I agree with the thought behind what Rafik had said in the interview.
Disclaimer: I'm not saying the rest are fighting for money, but I don't rule that possibility out either. Anyway, so far the best match I would say, is still the one with Rafik vs JWP, and Yod vs Bruce.
